The new fame, Insta-fame

Think of the world we live in… Surrounded by so many wonderful things and yet we always seek refuge in the palm of our hands… Instagram!

You may be wondering, “what the heck? Like that doesn’t make any sense!” and yes, it doesn’t. but what if I told you it’s one hell of a great platform not only to show your passion for photography or to seek little bits of validation for your life (yes, selfie-takers…) but if I told you it was also an excellent way to get famous?!

Now, it’s not what you seem, think of it back in the day… a few generations ago at least. Where you had to have some kind of talent to be famous and well known. There was NO Facebook, Twitter, Instagram… Hah, the internet was still in its baby stages and I used to live on Dial-Up… the full 56.6 Kilo-bytes per Second) and it was all about the 3210.. But if you had a talent, and knew the right people, then you could get yourself to the top in no time.

The new rise of fame: Instagram
Quite simply, everyone uses Instagram, everyone uploads, and everyone wants to be famous and they’re prepared to help you out (only if you do).  The amount of attention you can get is unbelievable and this isn’t just limited to uploading, double-tapping and commenting.

Now with the dawn of technology, you can achieve fame through anything, but why Instagram? Quite simply, everyone uses Instagram, everyone uploads, and everyone wants to be famous and they’re prepared to help you out (only if you do).  The amount of attention you can get is unbelievable and this isn’t just limited to uploading, double-tapping and commenting.  Depending on your followers, they may even value your presents if they ever see you in reality. But at the same time, Instagram is a great way to network with others in person, giving them a chance to see what you’ve been up to as well as what your “life story” is.

However, it’s not as simple as you think… Well, not as simple as it was BUT a lot easier than having to have some kind of talent. You see, when Instagram first started, with a few simple hashtags and interesting images, it was easy to accumulate followers. But now, the platform is so widespread, used by many, within seconds, your picture will move down the stream of newly uploaded images, not viewable but to those who followed you. So your potential Insta-fame is just a little bit harder.

So what’s the way to do it? How is it done? It simple, help those be a little famous, and others will help you. Everyone’s been doing it since everyone jumped on Instagram! It’s literally the only way to go unless you’re famous, got something popular to show, or a sexy-looking girl (or guy).

And pretty much this is how I’ve and many others have developed our own, little insta-fame, by giving to others what you want back in return (you get what you give usually). Though this is a “revolutionary” way to become famous, it’s almost certainly not the best, especially if you’re the kind of purpose who is introverted enough to be afraid to venture outside the bounds of your comfort zone or too afraid to ask for something you want. But none-the-less, it can be a special source of validation, especially when those times of pimping are tough (yes pimps & pimpett’s… I’m reaching out to you too).
